Culture Demonstration for all Levels - Demos are a part of Culture Curriculum.Throughout the year, our cultural demonstrations provide students with an immersive, hands-on window into the vibrant traditions, history, and values of Indian culture. Rather than just observing, children actively participate in these interactive sessions, allowing them to engage directly with the material. By encouraging students to ask questions and explore their curiosity, these demos foster a deeper personal connection and a much stronger understanding of their heritage.

Kindergarten students explore their country by learning about the national flag, national leaders, and symbols through hands-on paper crafts and matching games. They also learn about various Indian customs, introduction to festivals, Foods from all regions of India, and Dresses. KG kids learn the basics of traditional games like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi (simplified), and Stapoo (Hopscotch). In-class live demonstrations are also conducted to showcase various traditional samples and artifacts for a more engaging learning experience.

Level 1 students will explore a wonderful journey through India's vibrant heritage by diving into foundational topics like national symbols, festivals throughout the year (including Diwali, Holi, fall, and spring celebrations), traditional dresses, Indian customs, and delicious regional foods. They will also learn about incredible wildlife, historic national heroes like Gandhi, amazing ancient inventions, and classic indoor and outdoor games. While some of these topics build on what children saw in kindergarten, they will now be explored in greater detail.

Level 2 culture curriculum introduces children to the diverse heritage of India through engaging, age-appropriate topics. Students will explore the country's physical and cultural landscapes by studying its geography, distinct regions, and wildlife, alongside the iconic Incredible India and Anokha Bharat themes. They will discover daily traditions and values through lessons on Indian customs, the epics of India, and ancient inventions. The curriculum also celebrates national pride and festive joy with units on Republic Day and a deep dive into Diwali (covered across two parts). To keep learning interactive, kids will experience India's culinary diversity by tasting and learning about foods from both North and South India, while staying active through yoga, traditional outdoor games, and traditional indoor games.

Level 1-2 is accelerated culture curriculum! Designed as a fast-paced track for young learners transitioning directly into Level 3, this course provides a comprehensive introduction to India's rich heritage. Students will explore the country’s physical landscape and natural wonder through Geography, Regions of India, Wildlife of India, Animals, Tourism, and themes like Incredible India and Anokha Bharat. They will learn about national pride and history by studying National Symbols, National Festivals, Republic Day, Gandhi, Amazing Inventions, and Ancient Inventions. The curriculum immerses children in everyday culture and traditions through Indian Customs, Dresses of India, Epics of India, and a journey through seasonal celebrations including Fall Festivals, Spring Festivals, Holi, and a two-part focus on Diwali. To keep learning active and engaging, students will sample regional flavors in Foods of India (with dedicated units on Foods - North and Foods - South), practice Yoga, and play both Traditional Indoor Games and Traditional Outdoor Games.

Level 3 students will deepen their appreciation of India's vibrant heritage by exploring its diverse traditions, beliefs, and history. After a brief Revision of key foundational concepts, the curriculum covers key national observances like The 2nd of Oct and honors the inspiring heroes who shaped the country under Freedom Fighters - 20th century. Children will broaden their understanding of unity in diversity by studying major Religions, key cultural practices in Customs, and joyous celebrations such as Eid, Christmas, and Rakhi. They will explore the country’s vast geography and linguistic beauty across Regions - 1, Regions – 2, and Languages, while discovering historical architecture through iconic Monuments and sacred journeys with East-West Pilgrimages and North-South Pilgrimages.

Level 4 students begin with a brief Review of previous concepts. The course introduces the country's rich cultural foundations through its famous Spices and traditional Musical Instruments, alongside an inclusive look at its major religious traditions: Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, and Christianity, as well as the timeless epic of the Ramayan. National pride takes center stage through lessons on Independence Day and Republic Day, paired with powerful historical units on Freedom Fighters - 19th century, Rani Laxmi Bai, and Chatrapati Shiva ji. Children will explore the natural and modern landscapes by studying major Rivers and discovering key travel destinations through East-West Tourism and North-South Tourism. Finally, the curriculum celebrates inspiration and achievement by highlighting famous Sports Personalities.

Level 5 students will advance their understanding of India's physical, historical, and artistic heritage, beginning with a brief Review of foundational concepts. The course explores majestic natural landscapes and biodiversity through units on Mountains and National Parks, while grounding students in early history with the Indus Valley Civilization, the Mauryan Empire, the Gupta Empire, the Chola Empire, and the Mughal Empire. Children will gain a deeper appreciation for philosophical and literary traditions by learning about Buddhism, Jainism, and moral storytelling through Jataka Tales-Panchantantra. Cultural celebrations come alive with studies on major festivals like Navratri and Sankranti, alongside the classical traditions of Vocal Music. Finally, students will honor the nation's journey to independence through a detailed look at the Indian Freedom Struggle.

Level 6 begins with a brief Review of key concepts before exploring India’s socio-political framework, including the Govt of India, Natural Resources, and the history of Indian Currency. Students will examine cultural expressions through lessons on major Religions, Festivals, classical Dances, Textile Styles, and distinct Painting Styles, while gaining deeper insight into literary traditions through the epic narratives of the Ramayan/Mahabharat. The historical journey covers Education in Ancient India, the rise of the Maratha Empire, and the impactful era of Invasions to Independence (incorporating both historical invasions and the fight for freedom). To connect heritage with global perspectives, students will explore Tourism and highlight global contributions through a unit on Famous Americans of Indian Origin. To foster independent learning and active engagement, students will also conduct in-class presentations on select topics throughout the year.
